Is it overloaded? This is the first thing you need to inspect. If there are just too many clothes in the drum, that can be your problem.
There isn’t enough space for any tumbling. When the drum is loaded up, air can’t get around your items and this trap moisture inside a pile of laundry.
Internal Mechanical Failures
Pull out some of your laundry (half, or whatever is needed) so that there will be room for other things to shift.
The difference can be significant when getting them dry.
Check the cycle selected as well. Did you accidental select the wash-only program? This won’t heat your clothes; it just rinses them and spins out any excess water.
To get machine functioning, you must select right mode. If you want heat, you’ll need to choose the wash plus dry cycle. If they’re already washed, just choose the dry-only cycle. Press on the buttons and you’ll see display update as it happens. From there, the machine will began heating up correctly.
Another thing is lint. Over time, fluff builds up on drum and seals over itself. The rubber door seal tend to get covered in little fibers so wipe that down as well.
The perforated baffles inside the stainless steel drum can catches some lint as well. Those things needs to be cleaned out too. That allows air to flow through again. It will make machine feel a lot smoother, which really does help speed of drying.
Then there are internal parts. The dryer won’t get hot but do run; so something is wrong internally. Maybe the heating element has failed? Could be that the thermostat has gone bad. Also possible is a blown thermal fuse.
To check those you will need to remove back panel; you’ll see all of this clearly, along with different connectors and wiring harnesses. It’s not a task for everybody, but checking out these electrical bits does take some care.
But there’s also things like airflow restriction. Blocked ducts and vents prevents hot air from exiting the machine. Instead, moisture builds up within the machine, causing it to take forever to dry. Or never finishing.
Remove any obstructions in its path and the machine will breathe easy right away.
It makes a big difference.
The condenser model use water to cool the air which means it has particular requirements for draining. The process shuts down when it can’t drain.
To remedy, open the compartment to access the drain pump. Check hose on the pump. If it’s blocked, remove the blockage. Water flow will resume and the drying function will work again. Easy fix after knowing where to look.
Sometimes it’s the simple things that fix everything. Turns out all you needed was a little bit of troubleshooting.
Next time you’ll know better then to overload the drum, but you didn’t get new one. Always check your cycle settings first. The lint seals are easy to clean, and keeping the vents clear makes a huge difference. Good thing these should of saved you some time and money.
