The LG washer display flashed an OE code, indicating that there was some kind of drain problem; meaning it couldn’t get rid of the water. It seemed like the cycle was stuck in a loop and something had to be done quicky to empty the drum.

Diagnosing the Root Cause
It never drained well and left water sitting in there. The water was annoying, but you were in a hurry and wanted your clothes OUT. There had to be some sort of quick way around doing a full cycle, right?
If you only want the pump to work, this is the quickest fix. Pressed that button beside the Dry setting. I selected Spin: No. Hit start. It went into pump-pump-pumping out the water mode and stopped when drum was empty.
Next, I checked the status. It read End and there was nothing in the drum. Thank goodness it said that, the pressure was immediately relieved.
What happened? Why did the machine go into that state? There are several reasons why it could of gone into that error. So you needed to do some investigating.
It could have been a blockage of the drain hose or it could have been the pump/filter’s fault. The reason the hose is blocked is because it has debris in it and filter is too dirty. These are just basic mechanical problems that can be easly checked for by looking at them.
On the other hand, it may have been an electrical problem. If you had to look further since the water didn’t drain, the reason was probably something electrical.
Did you check the power module? That’s where your main control board lives. Did you inspect the PCB for signs of burn? There were blue capacitors on the green board, and a black heatsink next to it. If components was damaged, that would explain the error.
So now it wasn’t a drain issue, but an electronics issue.
It is an easy problem to solve.
The drain pump assembly failed. Okay, this one’s common. You used some pliers on that hose. That was the gray corrugated hose going to the pump assembly. Either the entire pump have gone bad or its motor has gone bad. Replace the entire unit, or replace just the bad motor.
You held a beige plastic piece. It has black hoses connected to it. That’s the part for removing the water. When it’s dead, there’s water left behind.
One solution is to replace the entire drain pump. Another solution is to replace only the motor. Both fix the issue. Ultimately you swapped out the part and the machine lived again. There was no more OE code. It was worth it.
