LG offers another option called Download Cycle that enables a quick rinse and spin. There is no specific button on the washing machine to run it. Instead, you need to scroll through the availible wash cycles to find one that matches. Oddly enough, none of them is a match for a simple rinse.
Full wash cycle selections is available on the control panel. But, heck, you’re looking for something simple here. They bury these features in manufacturer’s equipment all of the time and we misses it.
Look at the buttons again until you see what might fit. There may be an option that says “Download Cycle”, yes, that’s tech talk. It won’t appear to be a rinse selection.
How to Run the Cycle
And then you push it hard and presto. There’s your screen; different icons is lit up. The icons light up, and the machine begin to fill with water.
And there’s that digital timer, only it says something brief. Like, say, twenty-one minutes. Not bad for a rinse. After all, nobody want an entire hour.
Yes it’s on right, and yes the water is filling the drum. It’s a nice gentle rinse as your clothes soak in all that new water. Then the machine starts moving the washing about, and soon the water are draining out.
The drain pump is working fine. The machine is fully emptying.
Once the water’s out, the spin begins. The drum starts rotating slowly and then spins faster. You peer through the door to watch as water spray from your clothes. It works! It removes most of the water.
Tick tick tick goes the timer and, before you know it, you’re done. It feels efficient. No more tricks, just push a button.
As it dries, the clothes sticks to the walls.
It doesn’t vibrate much at all and the machine remain stable throughout. It also self-balances quite nicely, so there is no need to mess with the load.
At the end of the cycle, the door lock pops open. No more waiting, just open the door and voila! Your laundry is slightly wet but no longer dripping. Just toss it in the dryer (or hang it out) and go.
That’s all the spin-and-rinse you want. And it doesn’t do a complete wash cycle, either. It saves water. It saves time.
Makes you wonder why they didn’t call it something less digital-sounding than “Download.” Because that’s realy what this is; a basic water cycle. It is a mechanism that works. It is satisfying once you find it.
