You need to manually drain LG washer-dryer combo for maintenance. So first, open up drain system located in bottom front of machine by lifting off the pump cover. This expose the guts within, including hose connections and filter itself.

Have a bucket handy before you start though. You don’t want to get all messy on your floors. Having some kind of container or even a large plastic bag help you collect the outflow cleanly.

First things first, prepare the catch area. Then unhook the drain hose from where it connects. Take off cap and let the water flow out by gravity. Use a bucket or whatever you have prepared, let the water flow out by hand into that bucket.

It’s simple, though you must take care with the delicate parts while they’re wet.

Breaking the seal allowed the water to drain out rapidy; which initially looked like it would be quicker then I thought, but that’s not a bad thing.

The manual draining work well to get rid of standing water in the system. It is just a simple process that didn’t require any fancy tools. Gravity and simple access did there job here.
