The next step is getting the specs from the Renpho massage gun‘s sticker on the bottom. And it says right there that you need 2 Amps @ 5 Volts. The rated power is 25W and the battery capacity are 2500mAh.
That means I know exactly what amperage/voltage rating I’m looking for in a charger. Which is nice, because if you’re guessing? You won’t get charged, or you’ll take more time doing so.
Choosing the Right Charger
Get specific.
Always make sure you know how much charge remains in your batteries before you plug them back in. Turn it on by pressing and holding the power button. Hold the button down until the unit power up.
You’ll see four blue LED’s light up around the base of the unit. This tells me that my battery isn’t full and that the electronics is working too.
This can be done quickly so when you’re ready to use them, you’ve got a quick visual confirmation they weren’t left on full charge. No sense waiting three hours for something that was already fully charged.
The charging port itself is no mystery. On the bottom of the device you’ll find it near the base. Simply use any good old USB-C cable and shove it in there. It fits snugly so you can be confident that it won’t fall out.
Above this location on the top portion of the unit is the Renpho logo. That’s your quick spot to plug in. Have the other end handy.
Selecting the correct power adapter
More important than the cable, however, is choosing the appropriate power adapter. So, you need a good wall adapter that provides enough power. Be sure that your adapter meets the needs of the gun.
You don’t want to go with an undersized charger. Get one capable of providing the 5V/2A load comfortabley. That way the battery will consistently get power. Consistency mean a long life.
Finally you connect the cable to the adapter and complete the circuit. At this point, the LEDs change right away. Four blue LED lights starts blinking. And they blink in a way that tells us they’re charging.
They’re charging successfuly. That’s good. We have a visual sign that it’s working. There is no odd behavior. There is no error code. The product give simple, straightforward feedback.
Now all we need is patience. According to the manufacturer, it will take approximately three hours to fully charge.
Don’t mess around with it, leave it plugged in.
The lights blink to indicate the process is happening. The lights continue blinking throughout the whole operation.
Just leave it alone.
Moddern batteries won’t overcharge. But watch the time.
So, wait for it.
After a while it’s good to go. It’s an exercise you do once and then your back up device is good to go. It seems simple and seamless.
And having the proper USB C adapter really makes a difference with efficiency and speed. The fact that you own it doesn’t always get mentioned.
Check the details before you run into some problems down the road. Keep it simple and it will work out better than easy peasy.
