Look at the air filter. It’s usually dirty; loaded with grit and grime that clogs its holes. But that’s good; removing it lets you clean it, increasing your ability to trap contaminants, while enhancing air quality.
You then look at the water collection tank. It can holds up to 30 liters; big for a home unit. Filling it up lets you see if your sensor are working properly. Once full, the system will turn itself off so no water spills out. That’s good because there is no need to check the tank every hour.
Simply set the unit to Auto mode and it will read current humidity levels and adjust the fan speed actualy. There’s no more fiddling or fussing; just kick back and enjoy your comfy home while watching digital display tick down the numbers.
Operational Features and Controls
Adjusting humidity is just as straightforward: simply set your desired percentage between 30 and 70 percent. Depending on how humid or dry you like the air, you may want to set it to 50 percent during winter months in your living room or other setting. It’s easy enough to make the adjustment and the control panel react immediately with whatever input you give it.
It also features its own drying cycle (useful if it rains and you need to get your laundry dry). Instead of putting wet clothes on the furnitures, this will blow warm air through the clothes and help them dry quickerer.
It also has a timer function that lets you select how long you want it to run between 1-4 hours. It will then shut itself off at the end of that period. For example, if I wanted to run it overnight, I could of do that. If you have to leave it on all day while you’re gone, that’s not necessary.
The built in drain pump means that you can use an external hose to drain water straight outside, so it’s no longer a chore to empty out your 30 liters. Simply attach an external hose to the outlet and let the pump do all of the hard work. It’ll drain straight outside, meaning no more straining your back as you constantly lift up heavy tank.
Its display is well-lit and easy-to-read. But the light can keeps you awake at night. By turning the display light off (you press the button), the unit run as normal, and the room remains dark. The simplicity of this toggle makes for better sleep.
The auto-defrost system keeps ice from building up on the internal coils. You don’t have to worry about frost building up and causing the unit to freeze up. When used in cold weather, the defrost system will kick into gear automatically to clear any ice that may forms inside.
The continuous drainage feature is what you’ll use when leaving for extended periods of time at home. Simply run the hose out to a drain and water will continuously flow uninterrupted until you return. No need to remember to dump the tank.
For rooms such as a basement, it’s important to be able to operate without interruption.
The Xiaomi smart app lets you control it all with full features. You can even view your setting remotely on your smartphone when you’re out of the house. That’s nice for being able to tinker with things like humidity while you’re at work or something. It works as promised and the system bring everything together well.
